Watch Luke at the Houston 2012 Marathon Olympic Trials in Houston, Texas. Having fun with all the events at the Houston Marathon running center where they have tons of vendors with information about half marathon training. There were lots of fun activities to do at the Olympic fun center. I got to throw an Olympic javelin, Olympic discus, and jump over Olympic hurdles, play Paralympics basketball.
It was a cold sunny day and there was tons of people out at Discovery Green to enjoy the all the activities.
A long time ago the Ancient Olympic Games were first a series of competitions held between representatives of several city-states and kingdoms from Ancient Greece. They included lots of brutal combats and chariot racing. Now the Olympic Games is a major international event featuring summer and winter sports with thousands of top athletes from all over the world. In fact, the Games have become so big that almost every nation is now represented. Fun fact: the Olympic symbol or Olympic rings consists of five intertwined rings and represents the unity of the five inhabited continents (America, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe).
