“THEY THEMSELVES ARE MAKERS OF THEMSELVES” – James Allen

The first week has passed since I started taking the blog in a new direction. I wanted to report what changes I made to the blog and where I’m at with the online book I’m writing.

The first thing you might have noticed is a pop-up that displays when you come to the site. I downloaded a wordpress plugin and modified it with some code to display a form where you can opt-in to my mailing list. When I was running my first dot com back in 2000 the goal was to get as many email sign-ups as possible. According to most successful internet marketers the money is in the email list and what you do with that list. First thing is first, start to capture the email addresses and build a relationship with my email list. I will be adding footer to the home page as well.

I wrote for hours and hours last week on my first online book. After writing 13 pages on the first topic I decided to split it into parts. The first part will be called, “The Ultimate Primer for Success” or “The Ultimate Success State of Mind”, as I haven’t ultimately decided yet. 🙂 This first part goes into detail about working on the inner you, mainly the mindset, and finishes up with a goals writing assignment. Time and time again, you will hear me say that everything starts from within and your mind is the most powerful tool you have. The other thing I finally decided I needed to do is start tracking my finances down to every last receipt. I know more or less where all my money goes, but when you go asking the bank or investors for money they want spreadsheets and numbers. Plus, I need to know how much money I spend every month to know how much money I need to earn from my blog to cover my monthly expenses. I downloaded about 10 different excel spreadsheets and tested each of them over the weekend. I finally decided to take the one that gave me a monthly and annual view of my income and expenses.
