I have been biking down our biking trails in town. Some of them are pretty exhilarating. I’ve been using a helmet and gloves. I upgraded my Wal-mart bike to a “Gary Fisher” bike. I read on Wikipedia that he was one of the first people to modify his bike into a ‘mountain bike’.

Going down the trails is fast, exciting and there is a level of danger. The trails are marked by colors and the friends I go with know of a couple of (forbidden) trails. This work is taxing on the lungs and the legs, and expect a sore back as well. Your legs and lungs go through bouts of sprints as you switch gears to push up hill.
If you decide to mountain bike remember your safety equipment and I suggest you go with a buddy.
