1 Mile Swim & 25 Mile Road Bike, Fun, I guess| Live Happy

I woke up at 7am to be at the lake by 8am.  To tell the truth I must have been anxious cause I woke up in the middle of the night and tossed and turned for a bit before falling back to sleep.  I NEVER wake up in the middle of the night on a workday.

Momo and I drove to the storage, picked up our road bikes and headed out to the Triathlon Training Lake to meet the other guys and girls.  I think I ate a banana, drank some orange juice, and water.  I knew it would be tough, but this was a bit crazy.

The water was a decent temperature for me.  As I swam around the buoys I remember thinking that I wanted to keep up and finish.  I’m an avid swimmer, been swimming all my life.  I remember once my brother dared me to swim across a river in free-port (that’s a whole other story).  Every swam at their own pace and I completed the 3 loops around the lake.

We put on our bike shoes (cleated) and headed out on the road.  It was a give and take for the 1st 12 miles as we switched leads between the four of us.  At the 12 mile turn around point Grant and Edward held the lead and set the pace.  There was times I thought about stopping, but I didn’t.  I thought that if I stopped it would just take longer.  There was a few “crazy” people honking and yelling, but it made for a good laugh.

We made it back and I felt a deeper bond for the my new friends.  We completed a lot of training, we did it fast, and no one gave up. I’m sitting here typing and I’m still pumped.  I tried to sleep, but I can’t, too much energy.

I need a massage so email me if you can give good massages. lol
